I want to be loved by you

Tucked on a side street beside a very busy part of London (not counting Oxford Street, eep!) is a little place called Proud Central - a fantastic gallery that I only just discovered this past weekend.
Thanks to my darling J, who lucky for me loves an iconic woman or two, I was introduced to this fabulous spot on Saturday. The gallery is now showing the Sam Shaw Collection, which delves into the world of Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe through photographs during the peak of their popularity (although, did that spotlight ever really fade?).
I’m fascinated by old Hollywood glamour. As I type this Billie Holiday and Louis Armstrong are playing on my Spotify. So, needless to say, I was pretty excited to view the collection.
Both of these women were incredibly magnetic, but I have to say, Marilyn steals my heart every time. Her image was, and still is, so dynamic and appealing. She played it up for the camera, which is probably why her photographs take centre stage at this particular exhibition.
The age old question every glam girl should ponder is - am I a Marilyn or am I an Audrey?
However tragic her life may have been, I would say I’m a Marilyn.
J agrees. Bless him.
If you’re in the area, go! … and if you’re in the area, why haven’t you contacted me yet? Let’s take the town!
