Beautiful (and scary) things

While feasting on chocolate and ham this Easter weekend (mmm, what a combo!)

Here are a few things to feast your eyes, ears and mind on.

First up, the new documentary on Philadelphia mural artist Isaiah Zagar. The man transformed decrepit neighbourhoods into colourful, creative, awe-inspiring wonderlands.

Directed by his son, this is the story behind the tortured soul who found love and award-winning art through ‘insanity’.

The film is composed mostly of home movies in the most extraordinary of homes. It’s a work of love and I can hardly wait for it:

Second up, Sam Mendes new film (Kate Winslet’s awesome husband and the man behind American Beauty and Revolutionary Road), Away We Go.

Can’t wait to sink my teeth into this one:

Thirdly, a scary one for you. This film looks mega-creepy, but I totally want to see it. Plus, it’s stars Peter Sarsgaard and anything with him demands being watched:

and just because I can (and because I’m also pretty darn excited):

  1. ‘There’s something wrong with Esther’ looks spooky for sure! Lots of bits to make you jump. I read Orphan was a remake of The Orphanage but it’s not is it from that trailer.
